Sometimes a coupon deal comes along that is just so fabulous that an avid couponer gets positively giddy! For me personally, this happens when stores pay me to take the product home!
Walmart's coupon policy, in part, states that "When coupon value exceeds the price of the item: the excess amount can be given as cash or can be applied toward the basket purchase , at the customer's choice". WOW! Now as an example, say Ziplock bags are on sale for $1.48 per box, and I have a coupon that says 'Save $4.00 WUB 2', that means that for every 2 boxes of Ziplock bags I buy, Walmart will PAY ME $1.04.
With the overage produced, You can purchase your items that are not as "coupon friendly" such a meat and produce. Pretty exciting stuff when you realize how this can work for you!
Now, before you get too excited, please realize that not all stores will do this! Wal-Mart and Giant Tiger will allow you to have/use the overage, Shoppers Drug Mart will occasionally, and some others will mark the coupon down to match the actual price, but you would still get the product free.
This weekend there are some freebies available. Canadian Tire is doing their annual scratch ticket, and you can save $5.00 (or win a BBQ, or save $5.00 at M&M Meats). With that $5.00 you could get free Tide (at $4.47 + something to take you over the $5.00), Bounty Basics 6 pk papertowel (at $4.97 with something small to take you over $5.00).
The biggest bonus is that a lot of the coupons that you can print yourself, (and I'm working on that list for you), can be printed multiple times, thus allowing you to stock up and maximize your savings. Always remember to check your store's clearance sections, you can often times get better-than-best-sale prices, and still use a coupon for extra value.
Today is new flyer day, so as I go through I will post any hot deals I find!
Tomorrow, we cover COUPON STACKING!! That is using multiple coupons for 1 product resulting in near and free items (hello Diapers!)
